Lambeth Academy hosted the Regional Final of the Jack Petchey ‘Speak Out’ challenge for Lambeth on Tuesday 9 May at 7pm. Last year’s winner Stella Oyetunde acted as MC during an evening of emotional, engaging and inspirational speeches. Year 10 student Teos Alchimowicz spoke about the importance of learning languages and Ademide Hassan delivered a speech about the importance of not silencing our young people. The panel was made up of professionals from the BBC and other high profile companies. They had the unenviable task of selecting the top three speeches. Aishat Ajibola from The Norwood School took first place and a huge Lambeth Academy cheer went up for Ademide Hassan who was awarded second place. Congratulations to all the participants who were worthy competitors.
