Ms Chioma Oganya, Governor Lambeth Academy
I am delighted to announce that Ms Shadick has been appointed as United Learning’s Regional Director for the South, starting in September. This means that she will step away from Lambeth as Executive Principal but will oversee its progress as part of her new remit working closely with Ms Shepherd who will remain as Headteacher.
The governing body wishes Ms Shadick every success as she prepares for her new responsibility. Over the last five and a half years, she has led staff and students on a formidable journey. It has been a pleasure working with her to raise standards and ensure that our school does its best for our students.
We are pleased to welcome Sophie Thieux-Billiard to the Local Governing Body. Sophie is a Clapham local who contributes an expertise in finance and operations.
Lastly, I’d like to wish Year 11 and 13 students the best of luck in their exams. I hope your hard work pays off and that you enjoy the summer ahead!
Ms Jan Shadick, Executive Principal
It is with a mixture of emotions that I take up my new role as Regional Director for United Learning in September. I have absolutely loved working at Lambeth Academy and seeing it go from strength to strength. My decision has been made slightly easier by knowing that I will continue to be connected with the school as it will be one of the ones that I will be overseeing. Ms Shepherd will continue to serve as Headteacher and I will continue to work closely with her.
I will have an opportunity to say goodbye to you all in July but thank you for the support you have given me and the school over the years.
Ms Carol Shepherd, Headteacher
I am honoured to have worked alongside Ms Shadick on what has been an inspiring journey over the last five years. It is with sadness that we see her leave us however we are immensely proud of her having been appointed as United Learning’s Regional Director for the South. This is a great achievement. I am delighted to continue in my role as Headteacher and I shall look forward to working closely with Ms Shadick in her new position.
As always we have had a busy term with a focus on ensuring that we finish the academic year in a strong position. We will continue this into next term. Your support in this is invaluable. Exam season is now upon us so we wish our Year 11 and Year 13 well! They have been working very hard and deserve every success. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our staff who have supported and cared for their exam classes so effectively and who will continue to do so through the exam season.
I wish you and your family a safe and happy holiday and look forward to seeing everyone for the new term on Monday June 5th.
