WHO’S WHO ON LAMBETH ACADEMY’S LOCAL GOVERNING BODY 2009

The Local Governing Body oversee the running of Lambeth Academy, which includes appointing senior staff, setting academic targets, ratifying school policies and reviewing the overall performance of the school. The usual term of office for a governor is three years. You can write to the Chair of Governors c/o Lambeth Academy. The clerk to the governors is Simon Mason who can be contacted via the school office.

John O’Farrell has been chair of the Governors since it opened in 2004. One of the original campaigners for a local secondary school he sat on the project board that oversaw the building of the Lambeth Academy. As chair he sits on the board of the United Learning Trust. He has two children at the school.

Mike Richardson (Vice Chair) was chair of Lambeth Governor’s forum and was active in the campaign for a new local secondary school. He also has considerable professional experience in education.

Stephen Potter (Principal) Under City Academy regulations, the Principal of the school is automatically a member of the local governing body.

Stacia Bolton was in involved in the original campaign for the school and has two children at the school. She was elected parent governor in 2007.
|
|
|
|
June Williams was elected parent governor in 2009 and is a former governor of Kings Avenue primary school.
|
|
David Hawtin was the project manager during the building of the school. He continues to be of particular assistance with planning and issues surrounding the site.

|
Kennedy Imuere is a local business consulatant and trainer and was the Chair of Business & Employment Training Theme Group for Clapham Park Project.

Mark Jones is a lawyer and was appointed community governor in 2009.
|
|
|
|
Steve Reed is the leader of Lambeth Council and has been a governor of the school since it first opened.
|
|
Joe Gray is the support staff governor. A well known face around the school who joined the staff early in the life of Lambeth Academy. Joe will serve until October 2012.

|
Mike Bristow is Director of the Faculty of Technology at Lambeth College.
