ULT Christian Ethos
The Christian faith recognises the value and uniqueness of every human being and teaches love, respect, forgiveness and the need to work for peace and justice.
ULT understands that everyone needs the space to grow spiritually and seeks to provide continuing opportunities for this to happen within its Academies.
Whilst the Christian faith will be the starting point and the central focus for the ethos of our Academies, we appreciate that we live in a multi-faith and multi-cultural society and the beliefs and practices of other faiths and cultures will be valued and respected.
Parents, students and staff of all faiths, and of none, will find our Academies a welcoming community.
United Learning Trust will require that the Principal, key members of the teaching staff and local governors are able to support the Christian ethos of the Academy, for example that:
- Academies, either at whole school or smaller group level, will participate in a daily act of collective worship
- The Principal, other members of the leadership team and Head of Religious Education will take a direct role in assemblies
ULT welcomes other faith leaders to participate in assemblies from time to time, especially on days when they celebrate their own important festivals.
