Solar Car Engineering Club

Congratulations to Ellie Ganpot, Chloe Ganpot, Samuel Atunrase, Jose Mendes, James Gray and Daniel Ralph for winning the 3rd place of the Solar Car Challenge 2010 against nine other schools from South London. The 7 weeks Engineering Club workshops run by Mr Picca culminated in the competition at London South Bank University on the 12th June 2010. Lambeth Academy participated in the challenge with their car, called “L.A. Rocket”.

After the morning practice session, L.A. Rocket team adjusted the car for the conditions of the track that we found out that wasn’t suitable for the unique design of our car…it was an outstanding last minute adjustment that made the team achieve 3rd place in the very first year of taking part in the competition. Also, thanks to the parents who supported the team on the day.
