Merry Wives of Windsor
On Tuesday 1st November, Lambeth Academy entered the Shakespeare Schools Festival for the 3rd year in a row - this year it was comedy time, and Mr Collis and Miss Agrotis had (foolishly?!) abridged their own version of the lesser known Merry Wives of Windsor! Despite a few nerves the show was absolutely outstanding, and was publicly praised on the night by the founder of the entire festival. Once again it was a brilliant ensemble performance, this time full of bright colours, silly accents and side-splitting gags – worth picking out were the 2 merry wives (Emily Moore and Becca Norris), clown-like Falstaff (Spike Aylward), the jealous husband Ford (Makeeda Osei-Kofi) and an unforgettable performance by Kieran Carney as Mistress Quickly, in drag, on a small tricycle….!
