Academy announces date for Banded Admission Test
Our admissions policy for September 2010 changed in July this year to include Fair Banding.
Fair banding ensures that the Academy has a balanced intake by ability. It is now used by a majority of schools in the local authority.
When pupils apply to the Academy, unless they have a statement of special educational needs, they will now take two short tests. The tests which measure Verbal and Non-Verbal reasoning are not selective. Their purpose is to assign students to one of our five bands. Once they are assigned to a band, we then apply our admission criteria which, by law, gives priority to looked after children.....
