Welcome

Welcome to the parents section of our website. We are very proud of our school community and value the communication we have with parents and carers.  Lambeth Academy and the PTA (LAPTA) hold social events to encourage parents become part of the school community.  Take a look at what’s happening and we hope you will get involved.
Autology
Dear Parent/Carer

Great news Lambeth Academy has bought Autology for your child!
Autology is the award winning learning software which enables your child to access textbooks, revision guides, The World Book Encyclopaedia, educational videos and their schools own resources within a safe, on-line learning environment.  All of this is available now for your child via their own dedicated log-in both at school and at home or wherever they have access to the internet. 
How to access Autology’s functions at home:
 Your child can access Autology’s search facility anywhere they have internet access.  However, accessing Autology’s full range of functions requires a quick and simple download onto your computer.  It won’t harm your computer and won’t collect or store any of your personal information.  Autology is trusted and used by schools all over the UK but of course it is your choice whether you want to perform the download.  Following are simple guidelines to follow if you would like your child to be able to access the full range of Autology functions at home:

  1. Log onto Autology at   http://www.autology.co.uk/   - you child has login details.
  2. Locate the drop down menu on the Autology front page and select ‘download toolbar’
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions
  4. Once downloaded, the toolbar can be turned on and off via the icon at the bottom right of your desktop
  5. When ‘on’ a grey box will appear – check that it says ‘on-line’ in the bottom left hand corner - minimise the box – the toolbar is now active
  6. Your child can now open a word document and start typing their homework – the toolbar at the top right hand side of your screen will light up to show that resources are available
  7. Your child can also create ‘active folders’ containing excellent educational resources
  8. Remember to turn off the toolbar (see 4 above) when the homework or revision is finished

ATOMs
We monitor which students are using Autology on a weekly basis and we award prizes each month to our top student users.  We call this our ATOM scheme – it stands for Autology Tokens of Merit.  Each time your child uses Autology to help them with their homework, coursework or revision, they are awarded ATOMs.  Each month we give prizes to the ten students across all our schools who have built up the most ATOMs.  Next month, we have ten vouchers to award.  So we are asking you to encourage your child to start using Autology at home or at school to help them with their homework, coursework and revision, and to start building up their ATOMs now.  If your child needs help with using Autology they should talk to their Form Tutor.
