Project Connect
Project Connect is a parental contribution scheme that now runs at Lambeth Academy in partnership with the Lambeth E-Learning Foundation (registered charity). The Lambeth E-Learning foundation supported an application for a grant for £10,000 which we were successful in securing from the E-Learning foundation to subsidise the cost of the net books. Project Connect aims to bridge the digital divide between home and school by allowing parents to make contributions towards a net book which can be used by students at home to support homework, coursework and access to the academy’s virtual learning environment (VLE) One hundred and three Year Nine parents signed up for the scheme and turned up at the Year 9 Parents Evening to sign paperwork and collect their net books. It was a fantastic evening. One parent said “Thank you so much for this scheme; It is so affordable and a fantastic idea for students about to embark on their GCSE’s!” Lambeth Academy aims to ensure that all our learners have access to develop their skills and make use of technology safely. We aspire to be an effective and efficient school with technology competent staff and learners. We will progress towards recognition and accreditation as a continuing commitment to improving ICT throughout the school. We are making a commitment to Next Generation Learning.
