Learning Resources

The Learning Resource Centre aims to:

 
  • Create a safe, happy working environment where students are welcome to come and do homework and read in silence in the quiet zone in the knowledge that help is at hand. 
  • Create a 6th Form and adult quiet area for work, reading and reflection.
  • Create the main body of the LRC as a place to research, socialise and relax at break and lunchtime and play games (Chess, Scrabble, Uno, Connect 4).
  • Offer Chess Club, Display Club (Friday Lunchtime), Book Club (after School), topical competitions, Colouring pens pencils and paper, show films and organise events.
  • Give help and advice

Opening Times:

 8am - 1.30pm

 and

 2.25pm - 4.45pm Whilst we do not officially open until 8am the students of breakfast club are able to use the LRC from 7.30am when available. 
 

Loans: 1 DVD for 1 night (no returns)
 

You may look on OPEC to see if the item you require is available and reserve the item if it has already been taken out. 

Students are encouraged to ask specifically for books they would like to see on the shelves and they will be included in the next order.

 

Sensible behaviour is expected at all times especially joining in LRC clubs and projects.
