Dear parent / carer
This is my first weekly newsletter and I’m pleased to report that the academic year has got off to a very good start. Year 7-11 line-ups in the morning ensure every student is focussed and lesson ready the moment they set foot in the building.
Our behaviour policy continues to support disruption-free learning and visitors to the school see every classroom door wedged open with teachers delivering engaging lessons and students involved in the serious business of learning. Ultimately, this is my primary responsibility, to make sure your child receives the best education so they have choices, and can compete for university places and jobs. However, learning doesn’t only take place in the classroom. I believe in education with character so this week, every Year 7 student took part in after school clubs ranging from chess to basketball. From next week, lunchtime clubs will be available to all students as part of our enrichment programme.
