Students at Lambeth Academy are preparing to return to the school's Sixth Form, after receiving their GCSE grades today.
As a result of COVID-19, students and staff across the country have found themselves in an unprecedented situation this year with the cancellation of GCSE examinations. Students have therefore been awarded grades based on what their teachers predicted they would achieve, except in cases where the model created by Ofqual has awarded a higher grade.
Leon Wilson, Executive Principal of Lambeth Academy said:
"Despite the challenges of recent months, I am incredibly proud of the character, resilience and dedication our Year 11s have shown throughout their time at Lambeth Academy. I know many were disappointed not to be able to sit their exams as they'd hoped, but I am glad that they will now be moving on successfully to the next stage of their school careers. What is particularly pleasing is that so many students are choosing to return to our Sixth Form this September, where our staff know and value them as individuals and will work tirelessly to support each of them to achieve their ambitions."
