Lambeth Academy Receives £20,000 Grant from Restore The Music UK

Lambeth Academy is delighted to announce that the school has been awarded a full grant of £20,000 from RTM UK for the revitalising of the Music Department.  The Restore the Music UK Grant Programme delivers private funding to schools to facilitate the provision of music – instruments and tuition – to all children in state education across London, from primary through secondary school.  RTM raises money to rebuild school music departments in heavily deprived areas and make music accessible and available to all young people throughout their education. The RTM Grant Programme addresses the hole created by austerity & funding cuts, reestablishing access to music as a priority in every school. This month RTM UK awarded a whopping £280,000 to 18 schools nationwide.

Ms Polly Moore, CEO of RTM UK said;

"We are delighted to be welcoming Lambeth Academy in to the Restore the Music UK community and are very much looking forward to getting to know the school and its staff and students over the coming years."

Mr Leon Wilson, Executive Principal said:

"We are grateful to RTM UK to be receiving one of their generous grants and we are excited to be working together to restore our music department and give access to music to all our students."

Ms Becky Haworth, Head of the Music Department said:

"It's really a dream come true.  We know music helps young people build confidence and explore their creativity and this grant will provide my department with the resources to make music at the academy an enriching experience for every child."
