WELCOME TO THE ELMS ACADEMY SIXTH FORM IN CLAPHAM

We are a friendly and inclusive Sixth Form with a broad curriculum and a diverse student body that reflects our vibrant community. Our Sixth Form is the first choice for students studying at both The Elms Academy and The Hurlingham Academy and we also welcome external applicants looking to join a Sixth Form that will bring out the best in them. We are proud to offer our students sustained academic and vocational excellence with exam results that position us within the top 1% of Sixth Forms in England for student progress and within the top 2 of United Learning schools - a family of 70 schools nationwide.

Over the past two years, an average of 44% of all A levels achieved in final examinations were grade A or A* and 73% were grade B. On average, 93% of grades in our vocational BTEC qualifications were Distinction or above. Our results are the highest of any state sponsored academy in the borough of Lambeth for two years in a row and outperform most other non-fee paying sixth forms and colleges in neighbouring boroughs. This transforms the opportunities available to our students because it opens doors to the world’s top universities and employers. Read more about our students’ record exam results and destinations via the navigation panel and on the DFE website.

The Elms Academy approach is different and involves an unrelenting focus on high standards for all which sets the highest expectations for student conduct and academic progress. We work hard to create a nurturing, ambitious and focused environment where all can achieve their potential. We sweat the small stuff and make every minute count. This approach has resulted in a large and growing proportion of our diverse student body gaining offers to study at the top 20 competitive universities in the UK including Oxford and Cambridge.

Developing young people as all round individuals and active citizens who live with integrity is what we call education with character. Being equipped with the attributes, knowledge and skills to successfully navigate any situation will lead to a more fulfilling life and one that contributes positively to society. We have many enrichment opportunities and have unique partnerships with organisations that help us to achieve these aims including United Learning, the NHS, universities, charities and private enterprise.

We have state of the art facilities in many areas of the curriculum we offer including a professional recording studio, fully-equipped laboratories, a professional theatre setting and a number of specialist art rooms. We also have two large libraries – one of which is dedicated entirely to the Sixth Form, a fully equipped fitness gym and floodlit multi-games area to ensure that students can unwind and relax.

We also have a bespoke careers service and offer incredible university guidance all year round with our in-house co-ordinator.

You are welcome to visit us anytime in the school day for a tour (no reservation needed) and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
